BTCC & British Superbikes at Silverstone

Two key events in the summer's run of motor sport at Silverstone - and from the conversation I've just had with their sales team both are almost sold out!

Rumour has it there's less than 20 packages left in the Brooklands Restaurant for the BTCC so if you're interest it's a case of first come, first served and get in quickly!

For more details on all of our Silverstone hospitality packages click here - and don't forget we're an Official Agent offering Official Hospitality at Silverstone. We don't get involved in hospitality facilities outside of the circuit's facilities (i.e. if we can't buy if from Silverstone Motor Circuit - we don't offer it!)

Moto GP - Laguna Seca

WOW! Had forgotten just how thrilling MotoGP can be until I watched the coverage on BBC last night from Laguna Seca in California.

What with the battle between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner - who swapped places maybe 20 times before Casey ust overcooked the braking into the first turn and dropped the bike... then there were battles going on all down the field!

Must watch more of the fly-away races and really must get to a round or two in Europe.

Dates for forthcoming MotoGP weekends are available from our diary with most packages created on a bespoke basis.

F1 British Grand Prix 2009

We're now on sale with our Paddock Suite package for the 2009 British Grand Prix. Being fully aware that the dates have not yet been ratified by the FIA (although it was the FIA who announced them) we're very much taking deposits at this stage.

Full details are available from our website and we will be adding other packages within the Silverstone circuit (i.e. Official Hospitality) as and when the information becomes available.

Interestingly Silverstone have announced that in the month since the 2008 (i.e. 60th) running of the race they have sold over 5000 advanced tickets.

F1 Drive in the South of France

Feedback just received from our client who recently spent a fantastic (by all accounts) 3 days in and around the South of France.

Accommodation at the Columbus in Monaco exceeded all expectations, the day he spent driving Formula 3 cars culminated in 5 laps in a Formula 1 car on a circuit almost as tight and twisty as the streets of Monaco, all rounded off with a dusk helicopter flight around the Principality.

Does the client want to do it again? That's a very big YES - but next time on either the faster Circuit Paul Ricard, or perhaps at Barcelona!

Donington Park vs Silverstone

Hmmm plenty has already been written on this subject. We're trying to stay impartial - afterall we deal with both Donington and Silverstone - in both cases in an Official capapcity (i.e. we deal with them - and you pay us the same as going direct).

But... Silverstone has it's faults - mainly in the way it's run, but over the last few years the improvements have been tremendous. Whether it's access (the A43 from the M40 or M1) to improved parking to the future plans things have been getting better year on year.

Donington will tell you they're only 2 miles from the M1. Well there's £22m of your £100m budget gone Mr Gillet and Mr Lee (co-owners of Donington Park).

Oh and of course we can't have a repeat of the World Series by Renault fiasco in 2007 where people trying to get to East Midlands airport ended up dumping cars and walking to catch their flights... that was busy but still 15,000+ fewer people than at a Grand Prix - and how do you reconcile one of the busiest airports in the UK with the world's busiest heliport on race day.

Come on Bernie (Ecclestone) - please explain that either:
a) You and Max (Mosely, embattled president of the FIA) thought it wasn't July 4th but actually April 1st and that this was a very poor April Fool's Day joke, or
b) this was a way of bining the British Grand Prix for good when Donington doesn't come up with the goods - i.e. planing permission (not just for the work but to run the Grand Prix), the track extensions, something more than a 2 lane access - oh and of course somewhere to land your helicopter

F1 British Grand Prix - Silverstone review

We are in the fortunate position of having access to 2 paddock suites at Silverstone - which for obvious reasons (directly beside the pit lane, centre access etc) are extremely popular for the F1 Grand Prix.

What we have discovered most recently is one thing - you have to love F1 to really appreciate how close you are, the noise, the smells and more importantly that space really is at a premium.

Our suites hold a maximum of 32 guests each - and we have the tables and chairs to prove it - however even with only 30 guests in one the inclement weather for the 2008 Grand Prix left everyone of our guests getting quite cozy - not a problem we've ever experienced before but then I can't remember a race weekend when quite so much rain fell in (relatively) such a short time.

More information on F1 hospitality can be found at our website http://www.motorracinghospitality.com/ and links to our photo album from the 2008 F1 British Grand Prix will be posted as soon as we've finished reviewing the photographs (and reducing them in number!)
